This week the Sony is celebrating the 15th Anniversary of Resident Evil with the release of Resident Evil 4 HD along with PS One classicsRE 1-3. PlayStation Plus members get RE4 for half off and RE 1-3 for free. Also releasing this week is Burnout Crash, which is a new downloadble title focusing on the crashing aspect of Burnout. Netflix Video Game Rental: The End of Gamefly?

Netflix is used to running people out of business. Their business model was so revolutionary and effective that they played a big part in the demise of both Blockbuster and Hollywood Video. Yesterday, they announced that they would be splitting up their mail service and streaming service, renaming the mail service to Qwikster. This new service will also start renting video games (for PS3, 360, and Wii), directly competing with Gamefly. Could Netflix yet again push another industry leader out of the market?

Netflix Adding Video Game Rental Service

Late last night Netflix CEO and co-founder Reed Hastings, sent out an email to all Netflix subscribers apologizing for the rate increase and at the same time announcing Qwikster. Qwikster is now the name of the mail DVD service and will now be separate from Netflix. Along with this announcement came the news that they will be offering a video game renting service.

Resistance 3 Patch 1.02 Now Live

Resistance 3 Patch 1.02 Now Live

The Resistance 3 multiplayer has had an enormous amount of issues ever since they started the public beta. With little time to work with they’ve been forced to release two big patches in the first week of release. The day one patch was over 600 MB and this new patch, 1.02, is just as big coming in at 670 MB.  The newest patch is set to fix many multiplayer issues including matchmaking issues and crashing. Resistance 3 PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter First Impressions

Resistance 3 released this week, and along with the regular retail version, Sony released a Doomsday edition which comes with the PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter. The PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter is kind of like a gun shell, where you place the PS Move and Navigation controller in the shell and it turns into a rifle of sorts. It’s built well, and most games make full use of the peripheral. So how does the Sharp Shooter work with Resistance 3? Not as good as I would have liked.

This week's PlayStation update brings PS+ users the highly addictive PopCap title Plants vs. Zombies along with the classic SEGA title Altered Beast. Also available this week is the NFL Sunday Ticket App which allows Football fans to watch every NFL game right from their PS3. It does carry a hefty price, but it is the first time that people can get NFL Sunday Ticket if they don't have DirecTV. A few games also released on the PSN including Bloodrayne: Betrayal, a new 2D hack n' slash title featuring the classic character from theBloodrayne franchise.

Driver: San Francisco’s Online Pass Now Free for Everyone

Unlock codes for multiplayer modes are becoming the norm in the gaming industry. Companies have been “rewarding” players who purchase the game brand new with a  "free" code that occasionally unlocks extra content, but most of the time just unlocks the multiplayer portion of the game. Today Driver: San Francisco released and includes one of these unlock codes; however due to a printing error many codes don't work. Ubisoft has fixed the issue and now you won’t need that code at all.
