Street Fighter V Announced Exclusively For PC And PS4
Capcom announced that the newest entry in the highly popular Street Fighter series will be coming exclusively to the PC and PS4. Street Fighter V will also feature cross-platform play to unite fans from both platforms. Capcom’s Associate Director of Brand Marketing and eSports, Matt Dahlgren, commented:
“Throughout all of our discussions with Sony Computer Entertainment, it is clear that we share a mutual belief that the fighting genre has a huge opportunity for growth. The announcement today is just the first step, of many, in creating the next generation Street Fighter experience our fans have been asking for.”
Adam Boyes, VP of Publisher and Developer Relations for Sony Computer Entertainment America, also remarked:
“Partnering with Capcom to deliver one of the most popular video game franchises of all time as a console exclusive to our PlayStation family is a huge undertaking and an honor we take incredibly seriously.We can’t wait to show Street Fighter and PlayStation fans what we have in store for them.”
Interested fans can get a chance to watch the first gameplay demonstration at the Capcom Cup grand finals tournament in San Francisco, CA on December 13. If you can’t make it out there, it will be streaming live on Capcom’s Twitch channel at twitch.tv/capcomfighters.
Also announced was the news of Ultra Street Fighter IV being released on the PS4, solidifying the partnership between Capcom and Sony.
