Stage 2 of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Server Upgrades Complete

Stage 2 of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Server Upgrades Complete

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn over the past week has continued to have some server issues. It is however mostly related to Duty Finder and Character Creation Limits now. Square Enix has today however completed their second stage of their server upgrades for the game. The 10 hour server maintenance has just finished up and Square has released the details of the processes that took place.

Firstly, Duty Finder now splits the worlds into 3 groups for each data center to further relieve stress on the Duty Finder servers. The number of Instances worlds have also been increased, so we should now start to see less server crashes when trying to complete dungeons and story missions. Finally, Japan has had 5 new worlds added to its data center while NA/EU has 3 new worlds to create characters on. All new NA/EU worlds are for NA, however (EU are still stuck with 6 worlds to choose from).

The game client has also been freshly updated as well. The major new feature is the addition of a AFK timer. If people stay inactive for more than 30 minutes, you’ll betasting a nice logout. The other major fixes and changes are removing the ability to just ‘run’ through 2 of the level 50 dungeons as well as the costs of repairs and dark matter has been decreased by a pretty nice number. Check the full details on the server upgrades as well as all fixes for the client in the source link below. I am personally sad to see that the monster priority has still not been fixed, meaning monsters disappearing during a busy FATE are still a thing.

A Realm Reborn is available now on PS3 and PC, with the beta for the PS4 version kicking of the 22nd February next year. Also, anybody with the PS3 version will get an upgrade to the PS4 version for free.
