Get a $30 3DS eShop credit!

Nintendo, in cooperation with Atlus, is promoting a very good offer for 3DS owners. Starting on July 16th, one week from the time of this posting, if you register Shin Megami Tensei IV (same day as launch) and Fire Emblem: Awakening on Club Nintendo before August 31st, you will receive a $30 eShop credit. This means you need to sign up for a free Club Nintendo account, buy both games (retail or digital) and if digital, it’ll automatically register with your Club N account if you have it linked with your eShop account or register it manually if bought at retail. Once both games have been registered, a survey will appear in your to-do list that you must complete, after which you will receive an email containing your activation code for the $30 eShop credit. It is confirmed that the credit can be used for 3DS or Wii U purchases.

Again, all these steps must be completed by August 31st, and the credit itself must be used before December 31st, 2013. The credit can be used towards DLC, games, apps, anything on the eShop. Since it expires on Dec 31st, this means you can save it to go towards upcoming 3DS and Wii U titles such as Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Wind Waker HD, Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, and Pokemon X & Y (which is what I”ll be using mine for). As for the reason for such a great promotion, I presume that it is to promote the Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem game that was announced in a previous Nintendo Direct. This is definitely a great deal for RPG fans as Awakening is a fantastic game and Shin Megami Tensei IV is shaping up to be a great entry in that franchise. For more on SMTIV in case you aren’t sure about purchasing it, check back here tomorrow for my full review of the game.
