Wii U Gamepad Battery to Receive a Battery Upgrade in Japan

Nintendo has made a bunch of announcements concerning the Wii U today in Japan, including a brand new battery pack.

The battery upgrade will see the controller’s battery increase from the current 1500mAh battery to a 2500mAh battery. which will see playtime increase from 3-5 hours to 5-8 hours, almost double of what the controller currently sees, and was one of player’s biggest complaints when the system launched.¬†Other new products announced today include a quick charge kit for the Wiimote, and a 32GB White Wii U Premium bundle. All these products have so far only been announced for Japan, but Nintendo have said that other divisions will make announcements if relevant at a later date.

The improved battery will launch July 25th in Japan, while the other new products will launch July 13th. Follow Vivid Gamer for more updates, and if and when the new products are announced for other regions, we will let you know.
