Insomniac Responds to Ratchet and Clank Full Frontal Assault Vita Delays
Is Full Frontal Assault on the Vita canceled? Just a few hours ago Insomniac Games posted a message (which has since been pulled as of writing this) on their Facebook page sharing their frustration about the delayed Vita version of Full Frontal Assault, and the message has some fans worried that they’ll never see the game on the Vita.
Last month Insomniac mentioned in their PlayStation Blog post that developer Tin Giant and Sony were “hard at work to finish the Vita version, which will be available soon in early 2013.” Various reports later that day pointed to a January 29th release; however now that we’re at the end of the month and no one has said anything about the Vita version, fan frustration has spurred Insomniac to respond. Here’s their Facebook post:
We know you’ve been asking about and waiting for Full Frontal Assault for Vita.
Insomniac cannot make any comment about the game. We have repeatedly asked Sony and Tin Giant for an update to share with our fans. They have not provided any update we are allowed to share.
We are sorry for any disappointment, but there is nothing we’ve authorized to release publicly. Trust us in that we share your frustration, and have been passing your comments on to Sony, we also advise you contact Sony directly to share your disappointment and frustration.
As soon as they give us an update we can share with you, we will.
Not good news for those who purchased the title hoping to take advantage of the cross-buy promotion that has seemingly been a hit with many Vita owners. Does this mean the game is canceled? That is a possibility, or it might be that we won’t see this game for at least another month unless Sony thinks it’s a lost cause at this point. It has been delayed for about two months now, but I’m sure there are many Ratchet & Clank fans that are hoping they’ll eventually play the game on their Vita in the near future.
Either way, it’s good to see that Insomniac Games cares enough about their fans and the Ratchet & Clank franchise to at least let us know that they’re right there with us.
We’ll keep you updated as soon as we hear anything new about this story.
