Double-Sided Tape Created The Wii U GamePad

Double-Sided Tape Created The Wii U GamePad

In a recent Iwata Asks, the Wii U GamePad’s origin was discussed, and it seems as though came from a pretty unlikely place. The original concept came from a reworked Wii Zapper that had an LCD screen mounted on the front.

As the idea of dual screen play began to flush out, prototypes began to form, specifically an earlier version of the gamepad consisting of a monitor with wii remotes  attached to each side with double-sided tape. It was also mentioned that this prototype was used for over 30 Wii U game concepts.

Well, it seems like a little tape can fix anything.
