Xbox LIVE Indie Games Uprising III Launches Today

The third annual Xbox LIVE Indie Games Uprising has finally kicked off starting with the Snake-like title qrth-phyl. Nine games are featured in this year’s lineup and will be released each weekday until next Thursday. Aside from the XBLIG community banding together to highlight what they feel represents them the best, the entire collection can be purchased for only $11. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be any exposure from Microsoft regarding the Summer Uprising. Luckily we’ve got you covered with all the information you’ll need though so be sure to check these games out, rate them, and download them to help support some hard-working indie devs.

Gateways

Gateways is a 2D puzzle platform game. Alongside the traditional platform elements such as jumping on enemies heads, spikes and moving platforms are the gateway guns. The gateway guns allow you to place two gateways on the walls, floors and ceilings of the lab so that when you pass through one you emerge out of the other. As progress is made through the game different types of gateway gun are introduced with different effects

Xenominer

Release Date: September 19, 2012

XenoMiner is the latest addition to the growing voxel-based sandbox genre. The adventure begins as you wake up after having crash-landed on Xenos, the largest moon orbiting a gas giant. With only a little oxygen in your spacesuit and a bit of salvage from the remains of your ship, you must find a way to survive alone in the harsh lunar environment. XenoMiner brings several new concepts to the genre, such as futuristic technology, anti-gravity pads and gravity-bending boots, solar-powered drilling equipment with matter-to-energy storage, and programmable bots of alien origin.
