Xbox Marketplace Update: June 27, 2012

Xbox Marketplace Update: June 27, 2012

This is quite possibly one of the best week’s we’ve had for the marketplace in a very long time. We’ve got a ton of great arcade games on sale, two new arcade releases to enjoy, four new add-ons for some major games, and a handful of new Games on Demand this week! Aside from one awful looking demo, this is definitely one of the best offerings to hit the marketplace in months.

Deal of the Week

  • Trine 2 – 1200 pts 600 pts – The sequel to one of the best downloadable games of 2009, join the powerful knight, swift rogue, and crafty wizard in this high-fantasy, physics-based action platforming adventure. Go at it with friends in the 3-person cooperative online mode or tackle this adventure on your own.
  • Gotham City Imposters – 1200 pts 800 pts – This wacky FPS pits wannabe Dark Knights against The Clown Prince’s knockoffs. Utilizing crazy gadgets, this shooter adds unique twists to the typical formula and is definitely a title fans of the genre should check out. Then again, anything to mix up the ‘war-shooter’ filled genre is welcome in my opinion.
  • Nexuiz – 800 pts 200 pts – Originally beginning as a Quake mod, this fast-paced arena FPS is set in a futuristic world fueled by a war between Kavussari and Forsellians. Alter the rules of each match and laws of physics as you dominate opponents in ever-changing hostile environments. At $2.50 there shouldn’t be any reason not to at least give this game a look.
  • Worms 2 Armageddon – 800 pts 400 pts – The most fully-featured digital version of Worms has made it’s way to the XBLA. With online and offline multiplayer, voice support, a raft of new weapons, all new landscape themes, play modes, hats, skins, speech-banks and single player content; it’s a package sure to please any Worms fan.
  • Shoot Many Robots – 800 pts 400 pts – This four-player co-op run-n’-gunner stars robot slayer P. Walter Tugnut. Utilizing crazy guns including one that shoots garden gnome missiles, take on the robot menace in this 2D shooter.
  • X-Men Arcade – 800 pts 400 pts – This classic arcade beat-em-up has finally made it’s way to the XBLA and..unfortunately it’s lost a lot of it’s appeal. Although it’s still fun in small dosages, the appeal is limited and not nearly as addicting as you’d remember. However, it’s still a blast with a group of friends.
