E3 2012: Wii U Pro Controller Announced

The Wii U will be getting a “traditional” controller after all. Announced at Nintendo’s latest Direct broadcast, the new controller, dubbed the “Wii U Pro Controller”, adds another type of control system ¬†(Wiimote and Nunchuk, Balance Board, and Wii U Gamepad)¬†supported by the Wii U. Similar to the Xbox 360 controller, the Wii U Pro Controller showcases two shoulder buttons, two triggers, dual analog sticks, face buttons, a D-pad, a select and start button, a home button, and a charge port. Along with a new control style, the announcement of a new controller may set the stage for a healthy relationship between Nintendo and third-party developers.
