XSEED Games To Publish Ragnarok Odyssey On PlayStation Vita

XSEED Games announced today that the independent-minded publisher will be releasing Ragnarok Odyssey on the PlayStation Vita later this year. Ragnarok Odyssey is developed by Grandia and Lunar series veteran studio Game Arts and published by GungHo Online Entertainment in Japan. This action RPG is set in the Ragnarok Online universe. Originally released in Japan back in early February, Ragnarok Odyssey has received very high praise including a Famitsu Gold Award while garnering strong sales. Thanks to the publishing agreement with GungHo Online Entertainment, XSEED Games has exclusive publishing rights for the North American release of Ragnarok Odyssey.

Executive Vice President of XSEED Games, Ken Berry commented:

Ragnarok Odyssey is an amazing game that players have recognized through its position as one of the best-selling PS®Vita titles in Japan. To be able to offer this game, which has been the most requested title by our fans for some time now, is very rewarding and speaks to the level of quality we are committed to delivering to the players.”

Ragnarok Odyssey is an action-heavy RPG set in the grand landscape of the Ragnarok Online universe and puts an immense emphasis on melee combat. Based on Norse mythology, it pits humans against giants following the death of the ancient gods. The world within the game will open up as the story progresses, with new areas becoming available to the characters as they go about their journey.

Characters are fully customizable and can choose from up to six job classes that are interchangeable in order to complete quests. In addition to these quests, players will embark on a campaign to take down monsters and giants of massive scale. Thanks to the title’s versatile combat system, characters can perform massive combo attacks both in-air and on the ground. Cooperative play between players either via ad-hoc or online co-op is also promoted with Ragnarok Odyssey.

Look for this title later on this year and stay tuned as we keep you up to date on the latest news.
