Xbox Marketplace Update: April 18, 2012

Xbox Marketplace Update: April 18, 2012

Halfway through April and we’re kicking off the “Arcade Next” promotion with the sequel to Trials HD, Trials Evolution. Sadly, that seems to really be the peak of this week with practically nothing else of note. Luckily, we still have Skullgirls from last week and the gorgeous platformer Fez from Friday to keep us more then occupied.

Deal of the Week

Lego Theme

  • LEGO Indiana Jones – $19.99 14.99 – Build and battle your way through Indie’s original adventures through the jungles of South America to the mountaintops of India. Featuring more than 60 playable characters and 18 different levels that mirror classic films, LEGO Indiana Jones has fun for fans of any age.
  • LEGO Batman – $19.99 14.99 – Play as Batman and his sidekick Robin as you build, drive, swing and fight your way through Gotham City. Then, jump into the story from the other side and play as Batman’s foes!
  • LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga – $29.99 22.49 – Play through all six Star Wars movies in one videogame! Adding new characters, new levels, and new gameplay features with enhanced Force Powers, new power-ups, and new challenge modes.

Xbox LIVE Arcade

Games on Demand

  • Kinect Joy Ride – $19.99 – Enjoy five different game modes as you race through three unique worlds with stunning landscapes. Navigate obstacles, drift through corners and launch off jumps using the Kinect’s controller-free gameplay.
  • Cabela’s Big Game Hunter 2012 – $29.99 – The world is your playground as you explore a vast expanse of mountains and valleys with unprecedented choices in direction never seen before in a Cabela’s hunting game. Purchase a Top Shot Elite peripheral for the perfect Cabela experience.
  • X-Blades – $29.99 – Assume the role of Ayumi in this action-adventure game from Gaijin Entertainment. Wield two pistol-blades in this hack-and-slash title through multiple levels facing bosses and all that oppose you.
  • NHL 12 – $59.99 – EA Sports loves to release old sports titles right when the playoffs are underway (as evidenced by this title and Madden releasing earlier this year). They also enjoy launching them at retail prices on Games on Demand. For a game half a year old, this price is pretty ridiculous. Still, if you’re itching for your hockey fix,you can finally download it directly to your console.

Notable DLC

  • Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning – Teeth of Naros – 800 pts – Ascend to the floating city above Teeth of Naros and get a glimpse into the future of Amalur. Take on the crucible of faith filled with fantastic new enemies and determine if you are fated to be favored by the gods or forsaken by them.

Like I said before, there really isn’t too much of note this week. It’s understandable though since last week had four new arcade releases and they’re trying to spotlight the “Arcade Next” promotion.
