First Details for Crysis 3; Coming Spring 2013

2007′s Crysis and urban sequel Crysis 2 set new benchmarks for visual fideltiy and sci-fi action. Developer Crytek is looking to up the ante one more time with Crysis 3. Officially revealed via EA press release earlier today, Crysis 3 will put players in the shoes of Raptor Squad leader Prophet as he attempts to navigate the urban rainforest of New York City in the wake of the Ceph conflict portrayed in Crysis 2. The corrupt Cell Corporation has placed a Nanodome over the city that is rapidly changing its environment. This artificial quarantine, a means by which Cell can make land and technology acquisitions,  gives rise to seven highly unique landscapes dubbed the “Seven Wonders”. Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli says that players will navigate these interesting environments:

Crysis 3 is a thrilling mix of sandbox gameplay, advanced combat and hi-tech human and alien weaponry that shooter fans will love . . . Leveraging the latest CryENGINE technology, we’re able to deliver seven unique themes that offer stunning and visually loaded gameplay experiences. We cannot wait until people get their hands on the game.
