Sentai Confirms English Voice Cast for Persona 4 Anime, Fails To Tell Them

At Sakura-Con, Sentai Filmworks, who is in charge of releasing the North American version of Persona 4: The Animation (which you can watch online, with subtitles, via the Anime Network), confirmed that they will be bringing the entire English voice cast from the game on board for the English release of the anime.

Normally, this would be great news, but there’s one problem. Apparently, according to Anime Vice, who reached out to several of the actors, Sentai failed to mention any of this to them before their announcement.

The voice of Ayane Matsunaga and Margaret in the game, Michelle Ann Dunphy, was explained her reservations:

“To be honest, I don’t think Sentai has spoken with any of us. I’d be psyched to come back and play Margaret and Ayane again in the anime, but as of right now? I won’t count my eggs before they’ve hatched.”

Strange – it seems like Sentai jumped the gun a bit, here. Still, it’d be great to see the entire English cast reprise their roles for the Anime dub, and with no firm release date, they’ll have time.

Personally, I’m really hoping we’ll have the option to watch the anime in the original Japanese with subtitles, and that the DVDs will include the soundtracks like they did in Japan, because the anime soundtrack is fantastic.
