Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning – Next DLC Announced: Teeth of Naros

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning‘s first DLC released only a few weeks ago, but the next DLC pack has already been announced. “The Teeth of Naros” releases April 17, it was revealed via the game’s official forums, and will feature a new city, new enemies, and more. The DLC will be available for $9.99 on all platforms.

Here’s what you can expect from the new DLC:

  • A New City – Explore the Kollossae city of Idylla, which magically floats in the sky above the Teeth of Naros. Idylla featuring more than 20 side quests, multiple dungeons, and a mysterious new race: the Kollossae.
  • New Enemies and Dungeons – Take part in a crucible of faith and tribulation with new dangers and enemies as you journey through five enormous new dungeons.
  • New Twists of Fate and Items – You’ll have be able to find and choose from three new Twists of Fate, nine new armor sets, six new shields, and 18 new unique weapons as you journey through this new world.

Big Huge Games/38 Studios have opened a question/answer forum for gamers who have questions about the new DLC, although as of now, no questions have been answered. Two big questions concern most gamers: will the DLC increase the level cap (since the last did not) and will PS3 gamers have the opportunity to earn trophies?

“The Legend of Dead Kel,” the first DLC pack released back in March, was heavily criticized for not increasing the level cap and for offering achievements on Steam and Xbox, but leaving PS3 gamers in the lurch with no trophies, despite having trophies for the full game. Although BHG/38 Studios claimed the reasons for leaving PS3 trophies off the DLC were “out of their hands,” they were unable to clarify further.

As someone who has been playing Amalur for the past few weeks on PS3 (along with my husband, who’s even more obsessed), I was very disappointed to get shafted on trophies for the previous DLC and hope we’ll see improvement with “Teeth of Naros.”

The official website for the DLC will launch tomorrow.

We’ll be sure to follow up as more details regarding the new DLC are revealed.
