Epic Mickey Sequel To Be Different Than First Title
What began as a wild rumor proved to be true when the Associated Press recently reported that Epic Mickey 2 is in development. Designer, Warren Spector, plans to also do things differently with this sequel. For beginners, the title will not just be available on the Wii. Gamers can expect to play Epic Mickey 2 on the PS3 and Xbox 360 along with the Wii.
Spector comments on the direction that he is taking the sequel in. Epic Mickey 2 will be a musical co-op. Earlier this month at the Game Developers Conference, he shared:
“I’m such a geek about musicals. I love the co-op and next-gen stuff, but for me, when a character breaks into song, which they do on a regular basis in this game, it’s magic.”
Fans of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit will be happy to learn that not only is he returning in the sequel, but that Frank Welker will be providing his voice. Welker is a household name with a huge resume in the voice acting industry. Oswald will be able to team up with Mickey in “drop in, drop out” co-op. Mickey will be wielding the same magical brush from the first title whereas Oswald will handle electricity with a remote control.
