Workaround Discovered to Earn Trophies on Used PS Vita Games

Contrary to Sony’s intentions, there is a way for you to earn Trophies on used PS Vita games.

For those who don’t have a PS Vita and are unaware, the PS Vita uses flash memory cards for its games. This means that if you put your game card into another Vita system, the hardware will show you a message saying, “Only the first player to use an application can earn trophies.”

Luckily, PocketGamer found a simple workaround for this issue. If you delete the game data associated with your used game through the Vita’s home screen, the PSN account associated with the game will also be removed. This will allow Trophies to be earned while playing the used card in another Vita system.

Nice try Sony, but it looks like gamers are still going to be able to buy used games. Whether or not that’s a good thing is an altogether different matter.
