Japan Gets New 3DS Color, Bundles

Japan Gets New 3DS Color, Bundles

Sometimes it seems like Japan has all the fun, huh? Looks like they’re getting a bunch of new 3DS bundles, including a new color, Cobalt Blue, just in time for the release of Fire Emblem: Awakening (which is getting a European release, but as of now, no North American release, sadly).

Nintendo is also releasing a special limited-edition Fire Emblem bundle, which includes a cobalt blue system (with Fire Emblem design), a copy of the game, and a ¥1,000 ($12) point card. This special bundle will only be available online through Nintendo itself, and will be available for ¥19,800 ($243) on April 19 when the game releases.

But if you’re not a Fire Emblem fan, you can get the cobalt blue system alone for the usual ¥15,000 ($185) starting March 22; it’s likely we’ll see that color (as we did the others) arrive in North America soon.

Nintendo is also releasing two different Monster Hunter bundles, which include the game and a red or black system; it seems strange that the circle-pad add-on was not included in these bundles.

Lastly, Nintendo is offering two different Mario bundles, one with a pink system and one with a red, which include a copy of Super Mario 3D Land and the original Super Mario Bros. pre-installed on the system’s SD card.

All four of these bundles will cost ¥19,800 and will release on March 17 and March 24, respectively, in Japan.
