Apple To Make App Store Navigation Easier With Acquisition

Apple To Make App Store Navigation Easier With Acquisition

Apple’s App Store, which houses over 500,000 apps, has caused its fair share of problems in reference to finding what an Apple user wants. In response to this problem, Apple has acquired the app search and discovery platform Chomp for $50 million. Even though Chomp has an agreement with Verizon to improve the company’s Android-based search app, TechCrunch reports that the deal will end once the transition over to Apple is complete.

9to5Mac also reported that Chomp CEO Ben Keighran has already joined the iTunes marketing team and Chomp CTO Cathy Edwards is now a senior iTunes engineer.

What impact will this have on Apple’s App Store Search App? Sound off in the comments section below.
