Shin Megami Tensei Now Available In North American App Store

Shin Megami Tensei, the first entry in the series, has been out in Japan for nearly twenty years. During this time, gamers stateside had been waiting and hoping for the localization for nearly as long. While it has officially been released over here now, it should be noted that the title is still in its native language and is in the form of an iOS title.

Index Corporation, the parent company of Atlus, has decided to bring this title over though as stated above, it has not been localized. For the price of $13.99, this isn’t a bad deal at all to get your hands on the flagship title. Especially so if you are fluent in Japanese.

The basis of the title revolves around demons making their way into the world and causing an upset in power. As the hero, you are involved in the task to eliminate the dangerous entities when you receive an email containing the Devil Summoning Program. This program allows you to converse with demons and recruit them to fight alongside you.

I personally hope that sales for this are strong and helps in being a deciding factor to localize this and the other Japanese only entries in the series. Of course, I am lamenting the fact that Japanese was not a class taught in my high school and that I haven’t picked up much of the vocabulary. Though this does give me more reason to learn, right?
