Persona 4 The Golden Gets Japanese Release Date, Price

Famitsu has revealed the official pricing and release date for Persona 4 The Golden, Andriasang reports. The game will be available June 14 and the base retail game will sell for ¥7,329 (~$91), although a special-edition version of the game, the “Famitsu DX Pack” will also be available through their website for ¥10,290 (~$128). The deluxe pack includes a set of 10 post cards, a pouch, and six A3 sized posters featuring illustrations from Shigenori Soejima, Shuji Sogabe, Mad House, Studio Hibari, and Hiroyuki Maeda.

Famitsu also revealed that the Vita version of Persona 4 will include a new gardening minigame, in which you can build your own garden by planting and raising plants.

I know the dollar is weak and the yen is strong right now, but wow. I was hoping to buy the digital version of the Japanese game to hold me over until the English release, but even with a presumed 10% digital discount, $82 is kind of steep, even for a huge fan like myself.

Now that Atlus has announced Persona 4 Arena for the US, hopefully we’ll hear shortly about a release of Persona 4 The Golden as well.
