Witcher Franchise Sells 1.5 Million

Apparently The Witcher franchise sold over 1.5 million over the last year. And more than 401,543 of that number comes from sales of the first game.

The original Witcher debuted in 2007 to much fanfare, and then the following year got an enhanced version with more content. The Witcher 2 released in 2011, with 270,000 sold via digital distribution platforms. Of that figure, 40,000 units were sold on Good Old Games, probably partially due to the fact that it was the only service that offered the game DRM-free (a patch was later released that removed DRM from other copies). An Xbox 360 version is set to come out this April, with a whole bunch of extra goodies.
