Call of Duty Coming to PlayStation Vita

Call of Duty Coming to PlayStation Vita

In an Interview with GameTrailers TV, Guy Longsworth Senior Vice President of PlayStation Marketing said “in the autumn, [my teenage sons are] really looking forward to Call of Duty on Vita, and we think that’s going to be an absolute game-changer for the platform.” That’s right, there will be a Call of Duty title out for the Vita, most likely coinciding with the console launch. He also mentioned in the interview that there will be a lot of first party support for the title from developers like Guerrilla Games, Naughty Dog and Sony Santa Monica Studios.

No specific details about any of the future titles were given in the interview, but PlayStation fans can expect a lot of support from first party studios and large third party studios. The interview also included some responses to the high prices of games and whether or not we’ll see cheaper titles in the future. Guy basically said the prices are higher because of the higher quality of games, but there will be a lot of titles that gamers can purchase for cheaper through the PSN. I assume that means PS Minis will play a big role in giving gamers a cheaper option for PS Vita games; however there will be a few games that release during launch that are exclusive to the PS Vita and will range around $7-$10.

Sony is definitely hammering on the Game Changer slogan with the Vita and with the launch of the console this week here in the U.S. we’ll see how much of a Game Changer it can be.
