Call Of Duty Franchise Pulling In 40 Million Monthly Active Users

Activision’s Call of Duty franchise is as popular as ever, reportedly hosting over 40 million active users a month across all releases. This recent statistic came alongside Activision’s announcement regarding Call of Duty Elite’s success, stating that the service has reached 7 million users with 1.5 million users paying annually.

Activision Publishing Chief Executive Eric Hirshberg stated in a recent conference call that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 makes up roughly half of the current playerbase. Call of Duty: Black Ops reaches a total of 10 million active players a month, while Modern Warfare 2 reaches 2 million. Call of Duty 3 and the original Modern Warfare share the rest of the active users.

To help facilitate further growth of the franchise in the future, Activision stated that it is working on Call Of Duty Elite 2.0, which will add new features while supporting the next entry in the gaming series. Call Of Duty Elite 2.0 should be out later this year.
