Activision Booms in Slow Economy

In an Activision Blizzard financial report, it was revealed that the company’s net income has doubled, from $418 million to $1.09 billion.  The company’s total revenue however saw only a slight increase, from $4.45 billion in 2010 to $4.47 billion in 2011.   The fourth quarter alone grossed $1.41 billion for Activision, but was still down from $1.43 billion in net income Activision saw in 2010.  Total net revenue for Activision came to $4.76 billion in 2011.

Thirty-four percent of Activision’s revenue came from digital sources.  Bobby Kotick, Activision Blizzard CEO said, “Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure was the biggest new IP launch in Activision’s history and it is on track to become an important and sustainable franchise.   We launched our online service, Call of Duty Elite, which is one of the fastest growing premium online services ever created.”

Activision is forecasting sales of $965 million for the first quarter of 2012.
