Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention, The Vita’s First RPG Hits In April

NIS America released the latest trailer for the upcoming PS Vita port, Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention. Along with the trailer is the news of when gamers and Disgaea fans can expect to get their hands on the title.

Originally released for the PS3, Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice proved to be one of the console’s funnest strategy RPG titles. Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention takes everything that the original had to offer and adds on to the game. This is promising for those who had already played the original to experience something new.

There will be some Vita-specific features incorporated into the title. To promote on-the-go playing, Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention will use the built-in GPS to track your gameplay while you travel in order to raise your “Honor Quotient.” Boosting your “Honor Quotient” allow you to gain more experience and take advantage of discounts in item shops. Those who do not travel often will still be able to increase their “Honor Quotient” by other means such as winning battles and putting a lot of hours on your game time. Another feature is the use of the rear touch panel to view your map at any angle, a feature that is helpful when the maps get cluttered by enemies and allies.

Features are not the only new thing to grace Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention. This Vita port will also present two new characters to the gang, each with unique personalities. Rutile is the half-Nekomata, half-human hybrid who transfers to the Evil Academy with no knowledge of the Netherworld. This is due to her being raised in the human world for all her life. The other character, Stella, is the daughter of the dean for Evil Academy’s nemesis, Death Institute, Majin Academy. She also is the student body president and has the snobby rich girl personality. But don’t let her love of elegance fool you, this girl is a real trickster.

Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention is chocked full of new stuff and sure to appeal to newcomers and seasoned fans alike. Vita owners will be able to enjoy this title when it releases in April. For more information, you can visit the official website. Stay tuned as we keep you up to date.
