Original EverQuest Goes Free-To-Play For Thirteenth Birthday

Original EverQuest Goes Free-To-Play For Thirteenth Birthday

Come this March, SOE will be switching EverQuest over to free-to-play to celebrate the MMORPG’s upcoming thirteenth birthday. EverQuest might not have been the first of its kind when it was released but the title sparked interest in the MMORPG genre and paved the way for its sequel and other titles.

Though SOE plans to bring the experience free-to-play, players will still need to pay to access certain classes and spells. The first two of the three tiers (Free and Silver) are extremely limited in the content available. It’s when players are willing to pay $14.99 a month, that they can experience the full game. The Free tier is good for players who are late to the MMORPG scene and want to see what EverQuest is about. But considering the age of the game, players who want to pay the monthly fee are best to play its sequel.
