Former “Enemy” Leland Yee Now Stands With Gamers

Remember Senator Leland Yee of California? He was the person every gamer hated because he sponsored the California Violent Video Game Law that was eventually struck down by the Supreme Court last year. Well in an interesting turn of events, Leland Yee has seemingly come out opposed to SOPA by posting a link to Google’s End Piracy, Not Liberty  Petition on his Facebook Page.

A person that gamers hated last year because his bill would censor video games and could cause the end of M-rated games, something I completely disagreed with, is now opposing a bill that will actually censor video games, the gaming industry, video game journalism and free speech. Meanwhile the ESA continues to back SOPA/PIPA, while most of the gaming industry opposes the two bills. It’s funny how things turn out. Seven months ago us gamers supported the ESA and loved that they were standing up for us and the whole time they were using our support to lobby for PIPA. Now the person gamers hated is on our side and the ESA, who we thought was on our side, is now the enemy. What kind of a crazy world are we living in. Mind blowing…..
