New Xbox 360 Update Launching Without Highly Anticipated Apps

The next big update to the Xbox 360 dashboard is set to release tomorrow, but many of the big name apps and services will not be launching with the dashboard update. In a Press Release, Microsoft stated that the current apps (Netflix, Hulu, ESPN etc) will still be available, however the previously announced services such as YouTube, HBOgo, Xfinity On-Demand and MLB.TV are among the many apps that will not be launching until later this month and early 2012.

There’s no exact release date set for any of the applications/services but here is the breakdown for all delayed apps and when we can expect to see them:

Many of these apps were touted at the E3 announcement this year and continued to be talked up during the months following the announcement. While the update will be bringing in some much needed changes to the current dashboard, it would have been nice to be able to access many of these apps on day one. At least we finally have Kinect support right?
