Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Sells 3.4 Million

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Sells 3.4 Million

In its first two days on the market, the highly anticipated sequel to Oblivion, Skyrim, sold 3.4 million units across the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.  The numbers, from VGChartz, do not include digital copies sold.  Of the 3.4 million sold, 2.5 million were sold in the Americas.

The number is a 600 percent increase from that of Oblivion which had opening sales of 490,000 units across the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.  These numbers are almost unheard of for an RPG, and the game is expected to top Gears of War 3 and FIFA Soccer 12 in terms of first week sales.
