Game Of Thrones To Be Published By Atlus In Early 2012

Atlus, in partnership with HBO and Cyanide Studios, announced today their plan to publish Game of Thrones in North America. Game of Thrones will be an action RPG based on the international hit A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin and critically acclaimed HBO television series, Game of Thrones. Set to launch in early 2012, the title will be available on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Promising an unique story supervised by author Martin, Game of Thrones will also feature familiar locations straight from the novels and the likeness of actors from the show. Proving to be a bestseller with over 15 million books sold worldwide and winner of two Emmy awards, A Song of Fire and Ice is one of the most popular fantasy series out there. Now with the inclusion of a video game, fans of the series and gamers can live out the roles within the series.

Game of Thrones will come in at over 30 hours of gameplay and feature two original characters. Players won’t just view locales and people but get to interact with them, learning more about the history of the game’s world and possibly having an impact on events. The title also introduces an innovative “active slowdown tactical combat engine in which combat mirrors the same approach to war and politics as seen in the series. The fighting never stops but slows down, pressuring players to make quick choices before the enemies’ next strike.
