Xbox Marketplace Update: November 2, 2011

Xbox Marketplace Update: November 2, 2011

As Black Friday grows closer, and so, too, does the upcoming winter season, gamers are anticipating some great deals on titles they may have missed out on.  Like their retail counterparts, the XBLA tends to have some solid downloads for cheap as well as some decent new additions players can add to their libraries.  This week sort of has the former, but definitely seems to be lacking the latter.  Perhaps Microsoft is holding off their “can’t miss” deals until after next week (Skyrim and MW3) but this week, as well as next, is looking pretty lackluster.  Don’t get me wrong, there are a few great titles offered, just nothing we haven’t seen before.

Deal of the Week (Gold Members)

(November 1 – November 7)

Black and White with a Dash of Red

  • Limbo – 1200 pts 600 pts – Been heralded as the Braid of last years Summer of Arcade and even scored an outstanding 9.5 from Vivid Gamer’s own Juan Balbuena.  See what all the fuss was about in this moody platformer that is by far one of the most beautiful black and white titles to ever grace the XBLA or PSN.
  • Dishwasher: Vampire Smile – 800 pts 400 pts – The sequel to the ultra violent The Dishwasher, dig further in to Yuki’s bloody quest for revenge.  Featuring a campaign storyline, coop play, 50 arcade challenges and a ton of new weapons, download this violent sidescroller today.
  • Death By Cube – 800 pts 400 pts – This game sucks.  Go spend your points on one of the above or wait until next week when Scott Pilgrim Vs The World is on sale.
  • Skeleton Avatar Costume – 400 pts 200 pts – Dress your avatar up in a skeleton costume.  It would’ve been much cooler if the costume actually transformed your avatar into a skeleton but I guess it’s kinda cool.
