Naughty Dog Issues Uncharted 3 Multiplayer Fix

Naughty Dog Issues Uncharted 3 Multiplayer Fix

While the June multiplayer beta of Uncharated 3: Drake’s Deception garnered a very positive reception, the release of the full competitive multiplayer (released on September 30 through a Subway promotion) has not been doing so well. Numerous gameplay and mechanical changes have been made by Naughty Dog in the time between each release. Fans have had plenty to say about what they see as a broken multiplayer experience, with complaints on everything from hip-fire accuracy to sprinting speed.

Thankfully, Naughty Dog has listened and responded to fans, explaining why some of these issues are real or simply perceived. More importantly, the developer has issued a fix that should return gameplay to a more balanced state. Time will tell how the community receives this update, but feedback has been quite positive thus far. Naughty Dog had the following to say on the update:

“We’ve seen a tremendous amount of feedback during the first few days of the Subway Taste for Adventure full competitive Uncharted 3 multiplayer experience. Many of you drew upon your experiences from the Late June/July multiplayer beta and we have been listening to your concerns. We pushed a new update live today that will address some of those concerns. The changes include that tweaks to kickbacks, weapons, and the timing of sprint.”

“Comments have been made about the increased effectiveness of run and gun, but the accuracy has actually been reduced since the Beta. The removal of stopping power is what created this perception. So the old Spray n’ Pray remains true to the phrase. So aside from the turn radius of the sprint, your gameplay experience should be a lot closer to how it was during the Late June/July multiplayer beta.”

Check out the full details of the fix:

  • Stopping Power is back.
  • RPG Kickback cost has changed from 8 medals to 10
  • Sprint duration has changed from 6 seconds to 4.5 seconds
  • AK-47 recoil is tuned
  • G-MAL recoil is tuned
