XSEED Games to Publish Corpse Party for PSP This Fall

XSEED Games announced today that they picked up the North American rights for the Japanese cult hit, Corpse Party. The PSP title is an unique twist on horror action and promises to deliver one terrifying and chilling experience for gamers who might not be ready to survive the situations they are put in.

Corpse Party is an action game that features 2D hand-drawn sprites to tell the tale of a group of Kisaragi Academy as they try to escape a haunted elementary school filled with decaying corpses and tormented souls of children who disappeared from days before to even years prior. This title looks to give gamers the most uncomfortable experience with 3D audio and detailed art that shows off the untimely and bloody demises of those who enter. Jun Iwasaki, President of XSEED Games, comments:

“This is a game we believe will instantly captivate fans of action, suspense and horror and leave a one of a kind impact. Through its unique visual style, unpredictable storytelling and impressive audio cues, Corpse Party will test players’ mental strength and mesmerize them through its well-crafted mystery and intricate character-driven narrative, all while delivering a truly frightening experience that’s sure to keep everyone on the edges of their seats.”

Corspe Party was originally developed by TeamGrisGris as an independent title and adapted by 5pb for the PSP. It will be made available in North America as a download via the PlayStation Store by XSEED Games. Stay tuned as we keep you up to date.
