Sony Reveals Resistance 3 Nationwide 3D Display Pre-Order Bonus

Sony Reveals Resistance 3 Nationwide 3D Display Pre-Order Bonus

When Sony’s PlayStation-branded 3DTV was revealed at E3, one part of the bundle’s contents was a copy of Resistance 3. Much to the chagrin of customers who had already pre-ordered the bundle, Sony later announced that Resistance 3 was being removed from the bundle and replaced by Motorstorm: Apocalypse. Amazon and GameStop have nevertheless been offering Resistance 3 as a pre-order bonus, but it appears that bonus will now be effective at all retailers. Kim Nguyen, Marketing Manager for PlayStation 3, announced today via the official PlayStation Blog that Resistance 3 will be offered as a bonus to those who pre-order the PlayStation 3D Display at retailers nationwide. As it stands the bundle will now include the 24-inch 3D Display, one pair of universal PlayStation 3D glasses, one 3D-capable HDMI cable, Motorstorm: Apocalypse, and Resistance 3 (pre-order only).

Nguyen also confirmed the full technical specs of the display:

  • Full HD 1080p resolution and 240hz refresh rate for ultra-smooth play
  • 3 HD inputs (2 HDMI and 1 component) so you can hook up your PS3, cable TV box, and PC
  • Built-in speakers and subwoofer for a more immersive audio experience.

Now may be the best time yet to join 3D gaming, with Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, and The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection arriving this holiday season alongside others. The PlayStation 3D Display Bundle will retail for $499.99, and all pre-orders must be placed before September 30 to earn Resistance 3 as a bonus. Tell us what you think of Sony’s bundle and 3D gaming in the comments below.
