Professor Layton and the Last Specter Arrives October 17

Professor Layton and the Last Specter Arrives October 17

I was beginning to think this year may be a year without Professor Layton, since Nintendo had been fairly mum about the fourth installment.  However, today my fears’ were assuaged when Nintendo announced that Professor Layton and the Last Specter, the first in the second trilogy of games, will arrive in North America on October 17.  In case you were worried the game would be 3DS-only, you can relax; this new title will release on DS just as the others did, so you won’t have to upgrade to get your latest puzzle fix.

As mentioned previously, this title is the beginning of a new trilogy, set three years before the events of Professor Layton and the Curious Village, making it an excellent introduction for those who may never have played a Layton game before.  The Last Specter also promises even more puzzles than ever before, and the North American version will include a bonus role-playing game called Professor Layton’s London Life containing more than 100 hours of additional content.  That’s great news, especially since you won’t have to unlock this bonus; you can play it from the very beginning if you’d like.
