Ubisoft’s Pesky DRM In From Dust
From Dust, the well-received (check back later for our review), download-only title from Ubisoft made its way to the PC yesterday. Unfortunately for gamers, the launch did not go as planned. After weeks of saying the game would not require an internet connection to play every time, Ubisoft reversed its decision without telling anyone. While they did make everyone aware that an internet connection would be required the first time you played From Dust, it was suppose to end there.
The proof is in the pudding:
The current stance Ubisoft is taking can be seen by clicking here.
According to website Lo-Ping, Valve has taken action against Ubisoft for violating its Terms of Service and has decided to give gamers who purchased From Dust through Steam a refund. To receive the refund, login and fill out a Steam support ticket, which you can do by clicking here.
Already out for the PC and Xbox 360, From Dust is expected to release on the PlayStation Network next month.

The statement about Valve offering refunds is completely false.
