Child of Eden PS3 Delayed but Gets 3D Support

When Child of Eden was released for Xbox 360 earlier this summer, it was universally lauded by critics as one of the best reasons to own a Kinect. We’ve known about a PlayStation 3 version since the game’s first reveal, and while it’s been a long wait for PS3 owners to get their hands on the game, it seems they will have to wait just a bit longer. Child of Eden’s September 20 release date has been pushed back one week to September 27. Ubisoft confirmed this delay via Twitter, but also announced that the game would feature stereoscopic 3D on top of support for PlayStation Move.

Having seen the Xbox 360 version of the game firsthand, I’m very happy that the spiritual successor to PS2 classic Rez will be coming to PS3. Child of Eden is a gorgeous and brilliantly composed shooter yet in many ways defies explanation.┬áBe sure to give the game a try when it arrives on September 27. In the meantime, check out this preview and message from game designer Tetsuya Mizuguchi:
