Insomniac Confirms no PlayStation 3D TV Bundle with Resistance 3

Insomniac Confirms no PlayStation 3D TV Bundle with Resistance 3

Remember back at E3 Sony announced a new 3D TV that would be consumer friendly and be the first PlayStation branded TV? Well back then they announced that the TV will come bundled with Resistance 3 one of the more highly anticipated titles this year.  The low price and the bundled game really got people excited. Well it turns out we are just about a month away from the release of Resistance 3 and it looks as if the TV will no long be bundled with that game.

Amazon.com changed the listing for the PlayStation 3D TV ad included MotorStorm Apocalypse instead of Resistance 3. Insomniac later confirmed the change via their twitter account saying:

“For those asking about the 3DTV bundle:http://t.co/y0o9u4F — Motorstorm: Apocolypse replaced Resistance 3. Sorry for any inconvenience.”

Later when asked if there will eventually be bundle with their upcoming game they stated “the bundle is up to Sony, not us.” The TV is not set to come out till the end of the year so the MotorStorm bundle I would hope is simply a placeholder. I mean with Uncharted 3 coming out around the same time as the TV one would think Sony would be smart about it and bundle that game with the TV.

The PlayStation 3D TV does not have a set release date but is slated for a Fall release and will sell for $499.99 and is optimized for 3D gaming. Click here for more on the PlayStation 3D TV and don’t forget to check out our coverage of the Resistance 3 Multiplayer Beta.
