Diablo III May See 2011 Release

With a busy holiday season already on the horizon, Blizzard Entertainment has announced that their upcoming RPG Diablo III, one of the most highly-anticipated PC games of the last decade, may see a 2011 release. According to Company President and Co-founder Mike Morhaime, the team is putting out all the stops and striving to release the game before the new year. During the company’s quarterly earnings call, Morhaime stated, “We’re working hard to ship the game by the end of the year. But we can’t commit to a release date for the game yet.”

Morhaime also confirmed that the game’s beta period (a limited beta for Battle.net account holders) is still on track to take place before the end of the quarter, which means that gamers could get their hands on Diablo III before September 30 (According to IGN). With plenty of people still enjoying Diablo II, it’s safe to say that the more recent releases of World of Warcraft and Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty haven’t distracted players from the joys of killing hellspawn with friends. While recent announcements concerning Diablo III have been met with mixed reception there’s one thing you can always count on with Blizzard, they won’t release a game until it’s ready and it’s sure to be awesome.
