Call Of Duty XP 2011 Details

This year Activision is hosting a Call Of Duty Experience in the LA area.  The highlights of the show will be a live multiplayer demo of Modern Warfare 3, a Spec Ops Survival mode demo, and a million dollar live Black Ops tournament for the Xbox 360.  Aside from the actual Activision games, there will be life-size recreations of  The Pit and multiplayer map Scrapyard in which people can wage paintball gun wars.

The Call Of Duty: Black Ops tournament will be a 32-team single-elimination bracket competition.  Each team will consist of four players and will have a chance to walk away with their share of the million dollars.  Players will have various opportunities to qualify by showcasing their skills in Black Ops or through the XP website found here.  Aside from the major tournament, there will tons of minor prizes that can be won via free-for-alls, zombies, etc.

The event is set to take place September 2-3 in Los Angeles.  There’s been no official details on the exact location but Vivid Gamer will keep you updated once the information is released.  Tickets are priced at $150 and Activision is estimating over 6,000 people will be in attendance.  If you’re not a huge fan of padding Activisions wallets, you’ll be happy to note that 100% of the ticket sales will be going to a non-profit organization which seeks help to find veterans work and establish careers as they are transferred back into civilian life.
