Roboto to Hit iPhone and Android this Summer

Roboto to Hit iPhone and Android this Summer

Get ready to strap on your hoverboard and chase after the fembot (or robo-girl) of your dreams this Summer when Roboto lands on the iPhone, iPad and Android devices. Developed by Fenix Fire, Roboto is a side scrolling platformer inspired by the old school classics. You play as a teenage robot boy who has to make his way across the galaxy to save the fembot he is “crushing on.” As you platform your way through the levels you’ll come across some big boss battles and will have to solve a few puzzles along the way.

Roboto features a great cartoon-ish 3D style, 30 Galvanizing Levels, 6 different weapons, a level up system and of course the promise of “Epic” Boss Battles. Judging from the little I played online and the trailer video, this side scrolling platforming is a definite homage to some of my favorite titles growing up. It’s also a great looking title which is rarely seen in platforming games on the android. I’m particularly interested in how the level up system and different weapons play out in this platformer.  One thing that is a bit concerning is the music. It definitely has a retro vibe to it but I can see it getting old real fast. Hopefully there will be a way to turn the music down without having to turn down the sound effects. Robto is aiming for a Summer 2011 release on iOS and Android devices but while you wait feel free to check out the game at the developers homepage and here is short gameplay trailer and a few screen shots to check out.
