E3 2011 Day One Summary

The first day of E3 2011 was full of press conferences. Microsoft, EA, Sony and Ubisoft all held their conferences yesterday. So with that we got some surprises (not many)and some exciting demos, but of course there were a few disappointments and boring demonstrations. If you missed out on all of the conferences or announcements from yesterday, here are some highlights.

 

Mass Effect 3 will support Kinect

It was rumored last week, but was confirmed during the Microsoft conference. You’ll still have to use the controller for most of it, but now you can use voice features; during conversations you can simply say the option you want to pick in the dialogue tree instead of selecting the option with the controller. Call of Duty MW 3 Live Demo

The Microsoft conference opened up with a 10-minute long live demo for Modern Warfare 3. Read more.

Tomb Raider “Turning Point” Live demo

We all know about Tomb Raider’s reboot, and now we get to see it in action. If you subscribe to any gaming magazine, you may have read about the demo that Crystal Dynamics showed off at E3 during Microsoft’s press conference.  However, reading about something and witnessing it with your own eyes are two completely different things. Halo 4 Trailer and Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition

While Bungie is already out of the picture Microsoft isn’t going to stop making Halo games. Yesterday we got a teaser trailer for Halo 4 and they also announced an anniversary edition of Halo Combat Evolved (the first title in the franchise). This edition will be a re-mastered HD version with online multiplayer and co-op.  Read more about Halo 4 and Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.
