Save Money on LA Noire DLC With Rockstar Pass

Save Money on LA Noire DLC With Rockstar Pass

Rockstar is planning to release all the LA Noire pre-order incentives, including special suits, challenges, and cases, as DLC in the near future.  However, if you purchase everything separately (at $4/case, $1/suit, and $2/challenge), things add up fast.  To help encourage people to hold onto their copies of the game, and to make purchasing said DLC a bit lighter on the wallet, Rockstar will offer an “LA Noire Rockstar Pass” that will be your ticket to all the currently planned DLC.

It’s an interesting concept, because it basically means you’re “pre-ordering” some of the DLC with the purchase of this pass, but you will save money.  Individually, the content would cost around $20; if you buy the pass (via PSN or XBLA) before June 14, you can get everything for only $10.  Even if you don’t make the June 14 cut-off, you’ll still save money, as the pass after that date will go up to the regular $12 price.

In case you’re curious as to what you’ll get for your $10 or $12, here’s the list of currently available and upcoming DLC:

Now available
“Chicago Lightning” Detective Suit (Free via the Social Club)
“Chicago Piano” Machine Gun (Free)
“The Naked City” Vice Desk Case ($3.99 PSN / 320 MS Points)
“A Slip of The Tongue” Traffic Desk Case ($3.99 PSN / 320 MS Points)
The Badge Pursuit Challenge ($1.99 PSN / 160 MS Points)
“The Broderick” Detective Suit ($0.99 PSN / 80 MS Points)
“The Sharpshooter” Detective Suit ($0.99 PSN / 80 MS Points)

Available June 21
“Nicholson Electroplating” Arson Desk Case ($3.99 PSN / 320 MS Points)

Available July 12
“Reefer Madness” Vice Desk Case ($3.99 PSN / 320 MS Points)

Personally, I am not a huge fan of DLC; I don’t buy it as a general rule unless it comes with a “GOTY” edition of a game.  However, the prospect of getting a decent chunk of content for only $10 is something that even this DLC snob is willing to consider.
