Sony Remastering PSP Games for PS3

Sony Remastering PSP Games for PS3

Sony has officially announced that they will be bringing classic Playstation Portable titles to the Playstation 3.  The series is being dubbed the “PSP Remaster lineup” and features titles upgraded for the PS3.  The games will sport full HD visuals, exclusive content, 3D support, and compatibility with the Dualshock 3.  On top of that, the PSP and PS3 versions of games will also share save data allowing players to play on the go and continue playing while at home.  The PS3 versions are also compatible with Sony’s Ad Hoc Party for PSP service allowing full online play.

The series will begin selling through blu-ray discs, but word has it that they will also offer some games in download form.  The first game in the series will be a PS3 version of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd renamed Monster Hunter Portable HD. The game will feature 3D support, HD visuals, share save files with the PSP, and is set to release this summer in Japan.  No official word yet on if the series will be releasing internationally, but we’ll keep you updated as details come in.
