“Nintendo Selects” Box Art Uncovered

“Nintendo Selects” Box Art Uncovered

Earlier today we reported on a rumor that Nintendo was making plans to offer budget-priced Wii games called “Wii Select.”  Now, Nintendo World Report has uncovered boxart for these games, apparently titled “Nintendo Selects,” as well as retail shots of the new Wii console bundles.

Right now it looks like at least four Wii games will be discounted, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Mario Super Sluggers, Wii Sports, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which was also rumored to be discounted, did not have an image, so it’s unclear whether it will be available as a Nintendo Selects title.

The box art for the Nintendo Selects line is similar to a current budget offering Nintendo has in Japan, called “Everybody’s Featured Selection.”  Honestly, it’s about time, Nintendo.

As for the new Wii bundles, which will supposedly retail for $150 each, they will be available in white or black, and will include one Wii Remote Plus, one nunchuck, one copy of Mario Kart Wii, and one matching wheel.

Of course, none of this has been confirmed by Nintendo yet, although with these new images, it’s only a matter of time before the big N makes an official announcement.
