Playstation Plus Users Move “To the Cloud”
In today’s firmware update (v3.60) for the Playstation 3, Playstation Plus members will gain the ability to backup their game saves onto a cloud network. In addition to allowing members to backup their data to the cloud, today’s update also gives members the ability to access their content from any Playstation 3 connected to the PSN through a Plus account.
Plus users can save up to 150MB of data and have 1,000 files per account. Game saves with “copy-prohibited data” can also be backed-up and accessed from the network once within a 24 hour period. The feature will be available for recent Playstation 3 titles and all new releases. The save data will be available from the Playstation’s XMB at any time.
A few other minor features will also be added during the 3.60 update.

I have to admit this makes PS+ much more alluring.
I’ve already uploaded some of my saves to the cloud folder. It can hold a ton of save data. Not sure if I would ever use it but it’s nice to have for sure
Kind of a shame you can’t have it do that automatically.
it comes so easy to mind that this should be implemented, but if all features would come in a single update, there would be no need for future updates. and we all know updates deal with security issues, so they need to arrive rather often than rarely.
This does make me rethink my decision into getting a Plus membership. I’m glad to see that something of this nature has been added to the PS3.
